TAEKWONDO

Taekwondo, also spelled tae kwon do or taekwon-do, is a Korean martial art and combat sport involving punching and kicking techniques. The literal translation for taekwondo is "kicking", "punching", and "the art or way of". In IGS the training is given for Taekwondo which Improves flexibility, balance, posture, strength, and stamina. Improves mental health by increasing self-esteem, focus, confidence, concentration, and self-discipline. Improves muscle tone and physical condition. Improves agility and reflexes. Reduces stress.

DANCE

Dance is an art form, often classified as a sport, consisting of sequences of body movements with aesthetic and often symbolic value, either improvised or purposefully selected. Dance can be categorized and described by its choreography, by its repertoire of movements or by its historical period or place of origin. Dance is typically performed with musical accompaniment. IGS follows a syllabus for dance to make the students learn the dance in a systematic way. It enhances confidence and lot of exercise to the student.

CHESS

Chess is a board game for two players, called White and Black, each controlling an army of chess pieces, with the objective to checkmate the opponent's king. It is sometimes called international chess or Western chess. Chess game benefits the students to think fast, learn calculations and be patience. IGS encourages students to learn chess and will send to tournaments after training.

ARCHERY

Archery is the practice of using a bow to shoot arrows. The word comes from the Latin arcus, meaning 'bow'. Historically, archery was used for hunting and combat, having been invented in the late Paleolithic or early Mesolithic periods. IGS gives training to the students in such a way to excel in competitions and as a result the students will improve their concentration.

HAND WRITING

Handwriting is the writing done with a writing instrument, such as a pen or pencil, in the hand. Handwriting includes both block and cursive styles and is separate from formal calligraphy or typeface.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE GOOD HANDWRITING?
The process of handwriting promotes clear thought and natural structure. Being so close to the page means that translation of thought has less opportunity for deviation.

• It helps in getting good grades

YOGA

Yoga brings the body and mind together and is built on three main elements – movement, breathing and meditation. Yoga has many physical and mental health benefits including improved posture, flexibility, strength, and balance and body awareness. In Icon Global School, we promote the mental health for students by practicing yoga combinely for all the classes.
